Crowbeare Farm is situated at the end of a private lane. It is surrounded by fields, streams and peace, but with the added advantage of being only a short distance from the historic town of Great Torrington.
Our two non-smoking, pet free holiday cottages, Taw and Torridge, have been converted from the old shippon (or milking parlour). We have made the conversion and decoration sympathetic to the surroundings, with all of the old stone and brick work on the outside as original as possible.
Taw is the smaller of the two with one gallery bedroom looking onto the fields. It does have the capacity to sleep two more using the sofa bed in the lounge. It is very open plan, light and airy with a small south facing patio to sit and relax or just enjoy the view. It has private parking.
Torridge has two bedrooms, one double+ single upstairs and twin zip and link beds downstairs. Parking is just outside near the front entrance. It has level ground from the parking area through into the kitchen, first bedroom and the lounge. The downstairs bedroom is suitable for those with walking difficulties or those who use a wheelchair. It has an en-suite shower room and a door out onto the south-facing patio. The lounge also has a ramp from the patio doors to the patio. The lounge has the capacity to sleep two extra using the sofa bed and has the stairs leading to the second bedroom with en-suite shower room.
Crowbeare Farm has a small herd of Pedigree South Devon cows. They are a quiet, docile breed with each one having it's own character. Early to late summer is when they have their calves. They are fascinating to watch and friendly.
Great Torrington is situated in the Torridge Valley and is known as 'The Cavalier Town'.
